Robert "Bob" A. Plaiss, 85 years of age died Monday June 12, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. He was born December 11, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late George and Ann (Roth) Plaiss. Bob was a retired employee after many years with the Ford Motor Company in Louisville, Kentucky and was the widower of Betty Godfrey Plaiss to whom he was married for 59 years. He was a former member of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Chorus, a member of V.F.W. Post #1832 in Clarksville, Indiana and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel....

Robert "Bob" A. Plaiss, 85 years of age died Monday June 12, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. He was born December 11, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late George and Ann (Roth) Plaiss. Bob was a retired employee after many years with the Ford Motor Company in Louisville, Kentucky and was the widower of Betty Godfrey Plaiss to whom he was married for 59 years. He was a former member of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Chorus, a member of V.F.W. Post #1832 in Clarksville, Indiana and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. Bob loved people and never met a stranger. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sisters, Barbara Rice and Jennifer Hill.

Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Graninger (Chris) and Becky Massey (David); three grandsons, Andrew Jacob Graninger (Claire Johnson), Christian Phillip Graninger (Victoria Peters) and Harry Killian Massey; three siblings, Edith Gutkese, Betty Stiller, George "Bud" Plaiss (Dee); many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 9:00am Thursday at Kraft Funeral service 708 E. Spring St. New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday in the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
